Map
The Map page shows your fleet live on an interactive map. Each selected unit appears at its last reported position, updating as new data arrives from Wialon. Use it to see where vehicles are right now, how they are clustered, and to check a single unit's speed, mileage, direction, and sensors at a glance.
When you open the Map, all of your units are selected automatically and the map zooms to fit them.
Selecting Units
The unit selector sits in the toolbar above the map. Click Select Units to choose which vehicles appear.
- Search for a unit or group using the search box.
- If your Wialon account uses groups, switch between the All and By Group tabs to browse by group.
- Use All Units to select the whole fleet, or tick individual units.
- The footer shows how many units are selected, with a Clear all button.
Only units that have a recent position report can be placed on the map. If some selected units have no coordinates yet, a "without location" badge (with a count) appears — click it to see which units are affected.
The Map does not have its own units (km/mi) setting. Speed and distance follow your global measurement preference from Settings.
Map Styles
A style selector in the top-right corner switches the base map:
| Style | Description |
|---|---|
| Default (Carto) | Clean, high-contrast base map (default). |
| OpenStreetMap | Standard OpenStreetMap tiles. |
| OpenStreetMap 3D | OpenStreetMap tiles with the view tilted for a 3D perspective. |
Marker Clustering
When several units are close together, they combine into a single cluster marker so the map stays readable. The cluster shows a count and a colored split based on your Group by setting. Click a cluster to zoom in and expand it. Individual unit names appear on their markers once you zoom in far enough.
Each unit marker is a pointer rotated to the vehicle's heading, with a status dot indicating whether it is online or offline.
Grouping (Map Settings)
Click Map settings (top-left) to control how clusters are colored and grouped:
- Group by → Connection status — splits units into Online and Offline. Set More than (min) to define how many minutes without a message counts as offline. Leave it at
0for automatic detection. - Group by → Satellites — splits units by GPS satellite count. Set More than (sats) to choose the threshold.
Unit Details
Click a unit marker to open its popup. It shows:
- The unit name and registration plate (if configured).
- A status badge: online, offline, or idle.
- The last message time (with how long ago it was received).
- Live metrics:
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Spd | Current speed |
| Odo | Odometer / total distance |
| Eng h | Engine hours |
| Dir | Direction of travel (N, NE, E, …) |
| Sat | Number of GPS satellites in view |
- A Sensors section listing the unit's current sensor values. If none are reported, it shows "No sensor values yet."
A dash (-) means the value is not available for that unit.
Map Controls
Standard map controls sit in the top-right corner: zoom in/out, locate, and fullscreen. The map automatically fits all positioned units whenever your selection changes — there is no manual "fit" or "follow" button.
Looking for a Google Maps link to a single vehicle's location? Open that unit's detail panel on the Assets page and use Show on map, which opens Google Maps in a new tab.
