Connecting to Wialon
What is Wialon?
Wialon is a GPS fleet tracking platform that provides real-time vehicle location, trip history, sensor data, and fleet analytics. FleetTAB connects to your Wialon account to pull this data into a clean, modern interface built around the workflows that fleet managers and field staff actually use.
Without a Wialon connection, FleetTAB has no data source — the connection is required to access trips, units, drivers, and any analytics cards on your KPI dashboard.
How the Connection Works
FleetTAB connects to Wialon exclusively using a Wialon API token. This is a 72-character string you generate in Wialon and paste into FleetTAB once. The token is stored securely and used to authenticate all subsequent requests to the Wialon API.
There are two separate authentication steps when using FleetTAB:
- App login — You log into FleetTAB itself using your work email and a one-time verification code. See App Login for details.
- Wialon connection — After logging in, you connect your Wialon account by entering a 72-character API token in the setup modal that appears on first use.
These two steps are independent. Your FleetTAB account (email login) is separate from your Wialon account (API token). You only need to enter the token once — it is stored securely and used automatically on future logins.
First-Time Setup
The first time you log into FleetTAB, a modal will appear prompting you to enter your Wialon API token. You cannot access fleet data until this step is complete.
The setup takes approximately two minutes:
- Log into FleetTAB with your email and verification code.
- When the Wialon connection modal appears, generate a token in your Wialon account.
- Paste the token into the modal and confirm.
- FleetTAB validates the token and connects immediately.
See Wialon API Token for step-by-step instructions on generating and entering your token.
Managing an Existing Connection
Once connected, you can view and update your Wialon token at any time from the Settings page. You do not need to re-enter the token on subsequent logins — FleetTAB reconnects automatically using the stored token.
If your token expires or is revoked, FleetTAB will show a connection error in the navigation bar. Go to Settings and update your token to restore access.
